About Us
Engineering design to installation, specialists in marine mechanical systems and multi-skilled crew.

We are Liz and Chris, the company directors, we are a couple who met scuba diving in Scapa flow in 2017. Shortly after this we went shopping for a 7m Rhib and somehow ended up buying a 19m ex-fishing trawler to convert into a liveaboard dive boat. She's a wooden Danish boat, built in 1966, and spent 50 years seine netting in the North Sea. She weighs approximately 80 tonnes and has a Scania V8 400HP engine with a variable pitch prop.

We soon set to work, building on existing skills, embarking on an epic of removing fishing gear (approximately 8 tonnes of it), replacing covering boards, building new stanchions, fitting new bulwarks, completely rewiring, re-plumbing, a new hydraulic system, building a saloon, new hatches, etc… and of course a lot of caulking! She is a wooden boat after all.
OUR STORY

LIZ
"I am a commercially endorsed yachtmaster offshore(power) with experience of vessels from 7m rhibs up to 22m and 175 tonnes, single and dual prop. I also have some experience with sailing vessels and generally just love being out at sea
I am a BSAC open water instructor, diver coxen and dive leader, as well as a Padi gas blender and tec40/ tec sidemount diver. I like to turn my hand to anything practical, particularly joinery on boats and I have lots of experience of aluminium fabricating and welding (see our caprails and stanchions). I'm happy to help with anything on board, and seem to strangely enjoy jobs that involve getting particularly dirty and going in small spaces - I am a caver as well so maybe this explains things "

CHRIS
"I’ve always been into making and fixing anything that moves, starting with motorbikes and RC planes as a kid. I started work for a welding and fabrication company, then did an Engineering Degree. After this I got into diving, which led me onto a lot of work on boats and getting my Yachtmaster Offshore (power) ticket, with forays into lots of other areas such as building my own rebreathers from scratch. I have worked in a variety of jobs from CNC machine tools to Pattern shops and foundries, project management on food industry and industrial equipment, from CAD design to rebuilding diesel injector pumps."
